Gardens!!!

Oh my. I just can't seem to win with this garden. I get rid of one kind of pest, and here comes another. :/ I guess that's just part of it. I had some big green tomato worms that I finally got out of the garden, then some smaller, darker worms, and now the squash beetles have started eating my tomatoes that the worms finally left alone. Goodness sakes. I don't want to use pesticides, so then, of course, you get pests! ;) I've gotten some great cantaloupes and watermelon, lettuce and squash from our garden, (before the beetles), but some of the newer watermelons are having trouble. Who knows? Just nature, I guess. :)

I do, so much, enjoy the gardening. It's really hard work, but so neat when you actually get to pick something off the vine and take it right in and have it for dinner. So fun. We've also gotten some cucumbers, (which I found out are melons, who knew?), and some new plants are growing now too. I think I'll plant another crop of squash for a fall crop to try and get some new ones to grow. When it's cooler outside, I'll be able to spray the plants with natural pepper oils to keep the insects off , without the heat burning them. We'll see. :)

The Seasons

Hello all! Question of this blog: What is your favorite season and why? Essay time everyone. I need 200 words typed and turned in by Wednesday! :) Just kidding. But I would like to hear from you on which is your favorite.

I haven't been on here for a bit. I hope you're all doing well. I'm fine and keeping busy with the show, like always. :) It's been great and we are getting more and more repeat patrons. I'm very thankful and appreciative to all of you that come to the show. I have three more this week on August 22, 24 and 26 at 2pm, at the New Americana Theatre. The last week in August is a short vacation for me. Then, starting September 7th, I will be back to shows full time until the middle of December. Always at 2pm! Check the website for a schedule, please. :)

I took a vacation in the middle of July and really had a lot of fun. I went home with no particular schedule in mind, and just had a great time visiting with everyone. It was great to get away and focus on other things for a bit. You miss being at your own home and taking care of your own things, (at least I do. I actually like doing laundry. Hmmm.), but it's also nice to step back and take a look at what I may have been focusing too much time on, and what needs more of my attention. It's nice to get family opinions, too. My mom and dad were just here visiting and we had a wonderful time! We ate at some lovely places and had fun seeing some shows together. The show is even more fun for me to do when they're there. The time always goes by too fast. My mom reminds me to live in the moment and just enjoy the present. It's important advice. :) Life is truly a beautiful thing, and it really is a gift to us all. We have so much to take in every day and a lot to be thankful for! Life is what you make of it and how you respond to each day.

I've been thinking a lot about the seasons lately, and how I'm so glad that we have four distinct seasons where we live. I always feel a little bit different during each of them. Fall always feels crisp and refreshing. It's not too cold and is nice to be outside just talking or sitting. There's a certain feeling in the air that reminds me a lot of the games we'd go to in high school and college. Fun times with family and friends. Winter makes me feel a little sleepy earlier than normal and I feel more like watching TV and having snacks. (I always feel like this, just more in the winter). ;) Staying in and keeping warm always sounds good during that time! Spring makes me feel very alive and awake. In fact, sometimes I can hardly fall asleep because I'm just not tired. Everything is just starting to wake up and start fresh. Summer is a lovely time for me because I get to spend time outside doing something constructive. I love being in the sun. It makes me feel content and happy. The vitamin d-3 that we produce with the Sun's help is vital to our well-being. I believe this is the reason I feel so great during Summer. I don't mind the heat, and working outside, (with plenty of water and shade or air-conditioned breaks), is so enjoyable to me. :)

This year I was able to grow a wonderful garden thanks to my husband having some great dirt delivered to our house! You wouldn't think dirt could be such a nice gift to receive, but when you live in the Ozarks...it is!! It was a lot of long hours and hard work getting it all ready to go, but so rewarding. I love to accomplish things and see what is possible with just two hands! (Well, four when my husband was out there). ;) We have grown quite a lovely garden this year. We are awaiting the ripening of many of our vegetables and fruits! It's great to see them growing so fast and changing so much every day. I just can't get over how one little seed can result in so much food! It's amazing and a true blessing

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! What a wonderful blessing we have in our freedom. We need to protect it and be thankful for all we've been given. That's why we're all able to celebrate this weekend. God bless all of the men and women who have protected our country and all those who continue to do so. What does your freedom mean to you?

So far so good on the garden. It seems to be growing well and very happy! All of the plants change so much day to day. It's been very relaxing being outside and taking care of everything. I'm so happy to have it.

I had a day off today and have been caring for things around the house. Sometimes it's nice to just be home and clean. It feels good to accomplish so much in a day and have a clean home to show for it. :)

We've been so blessed with great attendance at the show. I'm so thankful for all that have come to see us. This year's show is the best yet, and everyone who comes has said how much they appreciate all of the different types of music and the great musicians. Aunt Erma is definitely a favorite this year! She's in high demand. :) It really is so much fun!

It's been quite hot now that we're in the middle of Summer, so remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate when you're outside, and before and after you go out, as well. Water is the best thing to drink for the health of your body, so get a good source of clean water and drink it!! :)

Watch for all of the children, (and adults), playing outside and be safe while driving. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend and week! God bless you all. Thank you for visiting.

New blog!

Good day everyone! I realized it's time to post a new blog! (My mom said so!) :) Things have obviously been very busy, but in a good way.

First off, I was able to visit my family and celebrate my niece's 1 year birthday party with everyone. It was so much fun and great to be there all together. My sister made an amazing cake and my mom, aunt and another sister helped with cupcakes and things like that! It was so delicious and a great celebration. It's amazing how much changes in one year. I really can't believe it's been that long since I met my little God daughter. She is fantastic, running all over the place and hilarious. She really keeps her parents hopping. (Literally, sometimes!) :) The whole trip was so nice. I can't say that I got much sleep, but that's almost always the case! It's too much fun to stay up and talk. It was just what I needed in the middle of the season to refresh and relax! By the way, that's me taking a picture of my face while I was swimming with my underwater camera! How fun! Doesn't it look like I have bubble glasses? :)

Last May, Tim and I were blessed with not only a niece, but a nephew as well, only 12 days apart. They are so great and bring us a lot of joy. It's so interesting seeing their personalities come out as they get a little older. They are different as night and day and I hope they get to play together sometime! It's difficult because they live so far apart. I'm sure they'll be good friends! :)

I've also been doing some gardening lately. While I was visiting my family, Tim called and asked if I'd like to start a garden again, but with some really good dirt. I thought that would be nice. My mom and I picked out some plants to take back with me and we got some seeds, too. My parents are expert gardeners, so I listen very carefully to their advice on everything. We've always had such nice food from their garden and I'm really hoping mine turns out well this year. For those of you that don't know, I tried a garden some years ago, only to have a dumptruck stuck in my yard and "dirt" that was basically rocks. It was difficult to cultivate anything in there, but some things grew. So, I'm thinking this garden just has to be better than that! :) Thank you to my mom and dad for keeping my little plants so healthy until I took them home! I really appreciate that! It's so relaxing to be out in the garden again. I really like spending time outside, but I like to have something to do and I enjoy taking care of the plants so much. What a great hobby that brings yummy things!

The shows are going great and I can't tell you how thankful I am that we've had good crowds! I look forward to seeing you all! We are at The New Americana Theatre on Hwy 76 in Branson. Aunt Erma is in fine form! :) It really brings me joy to do the show and to get to just sing and do comedy. It's just part of who I am. Right now our shows are Wednesdays and Fridays at 2 pm. I'm always out promoting on Mondays and Tuesdays, sometimes Thursdays, too, plus I play the piano and sing at church on Saturdays, and sometimes sing on Sundays, too. Lots of times my voice students come on Thursdays and Saturdays, and I also sell Mary Kay, so my days are quite full, but it's nice to have good things to work on and do.

Well, that's all for now. Just a quick question. Does anyone know any good and natural things to keep rabbits/deer/other critters away from the garden? Please use the comment section below to tell me what works! Thank you all!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Hello Everyone!! :) Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms. I hope you're all having a wonderful day! I hope this whole week brings you happiness, relaxation and well-deserved rest! Mothers are amazing, beautiful, wonderful people that make it possible for all of us to be here!! I'm so thankful for the gift that my mom is to me. How blessed we are to have such great people in our lives. You may have lots of people who are a "mom" for you in your life. Remember to thank them! :)

It's finally warm in Branson! I can hardly believe it. Goodness. It went from cool and rainy, to pretty warm, in a day. I haven't gotten used to the heat, yet, but I'm so glad no more rain is falling. There are many people that have water issues with their homes. I sincerely hope that everyone recovers quickly from this difficult situation.

We are having the best year of shows, by far!! We have had such a great response to this year's show. The music is so fun, it's a friendly show and the band is better than ever! If you've not yet seen the show this year, you'll have to come and see it for yourself. You will have fun, hear your favorite songs and you'll laugh with the band and Aunt Erma, of course! :)

The picture up top is of an amazing dessert crepe I had while on vacation in Hawaii. It would be so neat if that crepe shop were here, but, alas.....it's not. (Probably a blessing). Ha!

Happy Easter!

Hello everyone! Happy Easter to you. I've been reading about the Easter Lily. They symbolize new life and hope. The bulb buried in the ground represents the tomb of Jesus, and the glorious white trumpet-like fragrant flowers which grow from the bulbs, symbolize His life after death. I think that's really neat. :) They were brought to the United States in 1875 from Japan by an American tourist. Who knew?? :)

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful Easter weekend. We are getting a lot of rain, but doing fine. :) Thank goodness the people in and around St. Louis are alright after their storms. Stay safe and weather-wise during this season. :)

This is a wonderful time to reflect on the beauty of every day things, like trees, flowers, birds, and nature and see just how amazing God is. It truly is astounding when you really take it in and appreciate all the neat things around you. :)

We are getting amazing compliments on the show every one!! It is people's favorite of ours for sure! We are so glad and thankful for this response. Thank you to all of you for your support of us. :)

Great shows!

Hello all! I hope your week is going well. We are having such fun at the theater. Aunt Erma is making so many friends. :) She just can't help it!

We have a show every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon at 2 pm. We are at the New Americana Theatre. Everyone likes the show even more than last year. It's going so great.

We have been having nicer weather lately, but had some interesting storms before. The picture is of ice from a hail storm just at the beginning of this week. That's Spring for you! :) I hope you've all been alright with your weather and keeping safe.

Easter is just around the corner. I can't believe it's almost here. I've always really enjoyed Easter. It's such a neat time of year. All the trees and flowers are so beautiful and fresh.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It's Sunday night and I'm getting ready to turn in, but wanted to say a quick hello. :) By the way, this is me pondering art. Hmmmm. :) Does anyone know what this painting is about?

The shows are going very well and we are getting a tremendous positive response! Everyone has said this is definitely their favorite show so far. We're so glad and having such a nice time. The band is SO great! I hear about them all the time. If you haven't been to see us, or know someone that hasn't, come on over! You will be so glad you did. :)

For those of you that don't know her, Aunt Erma is so excited to meet you. She is pretty shy, ;) but she's warms up to people fast. Ha! She's pretty outrageous, but a sweet lady none the less. You'll love her singing style and her eye for fashion, as well. (Just wait and see!)

I took some time today to rest and am so glad I had the opportunity to do so. :) What a blessing it can be to truly relax. We had a very nice time at church today, a great breakfast put on by the boy scouts right after church, (they did a very nice job), and then it was down-time for me. Such a nice day. :)

Great new show!!!

Hello Everyone!! The new show is going really well. Everybody is having a great time!! We have heard such comments as, "We didn't know it could get even better, but it has!" What a nice thing to hear. Erma has a great new number in the show and people are really liking that, as well. I know I love it!! :) Ha!

I've been keeping very busy promoting the show, doing the shows, giving voice lessons, singing at church, and taking care of everyday things, too. Laundry, dishes, bills, errands. . . . they don't ever stop, but I kind of like doing those things, too! It's a nice sense of accomplishment.

We are finally experiencing more "Spring-like" weather. I'm so glad. It was quite cool most days last week, and was a bit like that today, too, but it's getting warmer. All of the buds have bloomed into beautiful flowers on our trees. So pretty. I just love this time of year. I know it affects a lot of people and their allergies, but it's still beautiful! :)

I can't wait for you all to see the new show! Thanks to all my friends that have come to see it so far! It's so great to see you all. I really appreciate it. The most special guest was my mom! :) She came for the opening of my show and we had a great time together. We had fun shopping, going to shows and having some nice dinners together. The time always goes way too fast, but that's because we're having fun!

Opening show...quickly approacing! :)

OPENING SHOW on Monday, March 14th!!! 2 pm. :) The New Americana Theatre!!

Hello Everyone! :) We are nearing show opening!! :) I'm really looking forward to it. We've been having great rehearsals. The band is even better than before, and the songs are really great!

We ran through the new show today and were very pleased with how well it went. The band sounds SO good! Erma has a new number in the show this year, as well. We couldn't leave her out! :) I won't tell you which one it is, but you'll like it! So much fun.

My voice students are doing so great. I'm really happy for them. They learn very quickly and it's a lot of fun to help them achieve wonderful music. It's enjoyable for me, too! :)

Wow. What a beautiful day we had today and yesterday. Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine! I just love it. Spring is great! Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tomorrow, (Saturday March 12). :) Yes, we lose an hour of sleep, but we'll have sunshine for an hour longer! Woo!

Show preparations!

Well, hello everyone! We are busy working on this year's show. It's going to be even better than before. I'm really looking forward to a new year and getting to see you all again. :)

March 14, at 2:00 p.m. is our opening show this year! We are at the New Americana Theatre on the 76 strip. So, two Mondays from now we will be open!!! Our schedule in on the website. To start with, we are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2:00.

I just ordered my dresses last week and the week before, so I'm excited to see those. It's always fun to add new costumes to the show. Picking them out of everything you have to choose from is not easy. I wish I could change dresses every week! That would probably be a bit excessive, however. :)

The new songs are so enjoyable. It will be nice for everybody to hear some new things again this year! It's always difficult to know what to pull from the show to make room for the new things. I really liked all of last year's show, and now I like this one even more. :)

I hope you all have had a safe and happy winter. Spring is coming just around the corner! It was so warm here yesterday. In the 70s! Then, today, it was in the upper 30s. Hmmmm. Well, that's February I guess. :)

I had a wonderful time this off-season. I went to a convention in Pennsylvania, went on an amazing cruise with my mom, went to visit my family, went to Hawaii with Timothy, went to visit my family again, and then came home to Branson! It was so much fun! I'm so thankful to my mom for going with me on the cruise. It was extremely relaxing and so much fun. We saw all kinds of shows and got to be out on the ocean for 7 nights. It was beautiful. The first picture up top is at the great Italian restaurant aboard the ship. Soooo delicious! I would like to go there for dinner. :) We even got to see two different Mayan ruins. It was fascinating. I posted a picture from one of the ruins up top, as well! So neat!

Christmas!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day when you are reading this. We're all doing well. :)

Well it's Christmas time!!!! :) We're having so much fun! It's my favorite time of year. Such a great spirit of love and warmth in the air. We are having wonderful audiences for the show and are so thankful to all of you that visit us. Thank you!!

We have shows this month on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 2:00 p.m. Our last show is December 17th, a Friday. It's a great show that really celebrates Christmas and just having a nice time. :) The whole first half is the best of the regular season, and the second half is all Christmas songs that you know and love!

Voice lessons are going well and we've just done some remodeling, as well. It turned out very nice. We're thankful to our contractors for doing such a great job. :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you all did, too. It was spent with family and great food! :) What a holiday. I love it!

Wow!

Well, hello! It's already October! We've been having a great time at the show. It's every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. In November and December, it's every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday at 2:00 p.m.

We are getting the Christmas show ready to go again! So much fun. I love the Christmas season and getting to sing those songs is wonderful. The orchestra sounds so nice. I'm so happy with them and thankful for everything they do. I hear about how great they are after every show. :)

I'm actually getting ready to go and promote the show right now. Every Monday and Tuesday are big promo days. I'm glad that I'm able to go and do that. It really helps the show and you get to chat with friends from other theaters, too. :)

I haven't been giving quite as many lessons lately. Lots of people are busy right now, but those that are taking are doing great! I'm so happy for them and it's great to see how they're learning more new things. :)

I'm very thankful to all of you that have come to see the show and continue to spread the word about the show! It has helped us tremendously! We are having even more fun than last year and people have even said that they like it even more than last season. That is great to hear! We continue to work to make the show very special for people. It's special for us, too!

Summer Happiness!

Hello Everyone! I know I haven't updated for a bit. I've been so busy, but having a wonderful time.

The show is going really well. Things are even better than they were last year. We feel so blessed to be having such great audiences. The orchestra is doing a fantastic job and our new tenor, Jeremy, is so much fun to have in the show. I'm so thankful to all of you who support us! Well, I also have even better news than the show stuff! Within 2 weeks, Tim and I were blessed with a nephew and a niece! They are both such sweet cuties! How fun! I had no idea that I would be such a ridiculous aunt! Ha! I'm loving it so much.

I haven't been able to play golf in a really long time. It's been almost a year, actually. I really miss it, and hope I can get out there and play when it gets a little cooler! A lot of my time is spent promoting the show, giving voice lessons and selling Mary Kay. I enjoy all of these things, too. Sometimes, I forget what I was going to do in my spare time, and I remember it the next day when I'm busy again! Oh my. Who knows? :)

We have shows this next week, June 23rd and 25th, Wed. and Fri., at 2 p.m. Then, we are the first three Fridays of July at 2 p.m. After that, I have time for vacation. We come back August 9th, a Monday and do three 8 p.m. shows. So our first three back after the vacation are August 9th, 11th, and 13th, Mon., Wed., Fri., at 8 p.m. We would love to see you all at any of these! :) We go back to 2 p.m. for the most part after that! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Everyone! :) I hope you're all doing well! We're great here! :)

Happy Mother's Day!! :) We wouldn't be the people we are without our mothers. Thank you to my wonderful mom! :) Also, congratulations to all of the graduates! :) I hope all of your plans work out very well for you all!

We have had a wonderful May, so far, and I'm so thankful to all of you for your support of the show. Everyone that comes to see us is very surprised at everything that we've put in and they're very glad that they came to see us! All of you telling people about us has helped so much! Thank you! Our show times are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Americana Theatre. :)

We have had some very funny moments in the show with "Aunt Erma" this year. Some of the orchestra members are playing little tricks on her that she's not expecting, so it makes it fun for all of us! I really appreciate them. They make the show a lot of fun. Everyone that comes to the show leaves as a friend, and it really is very special.

I've met even more people out around town this year while I've been promoting and have had a great time talking to everyone. I talked to some very funny ladies who were quilting at one of the resorts, and a man walked in that heard me say something about Hays, KS. We came to the conclusion that when I was at UNK, we broke the winning streak of the Fort Hays State basketball team, and that he was probably there when I sang the National Anthem before that big game! What a small world. It amazing the people that you meet and where you meet them.

Hello Everyone. :) I hope you're all having a great day and feeling well. :) I'm doing great! Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments on my blog postings, your updates on twitter and your kind e-mails. I truly appreciate them all!

I've been having such an enjoyable Spring. I've gotten lots of things done and am doing well with my scheduling this year! :) I learned a lot of very good lessons last year and am giving myself adequate rest this year. Wow, does it ever make a difference! I always give that advice to everyone else, but as we all know, taking your own advice isn't always easy. :)

The voice lessons are going so well. My students are great and are making wonderful improvements every lesson. It's a diverse group of people and they are all so great in their own way. I'm so happy for them and all they are accomplishing.

We just had a lot of rain go through Branson, so it washed away a lot of the pollen. I'm sure a lot of people are feeling relief right now! It's so refreshing to have everything fresh and clean after a rain. Spring is a beautiful time of year. I watched our tree out front get little blossoms, bloom and leaf out in just a matter of days! It's amazing to me. I was thinking the other day, how we go from snow and ice to this kind of weather. It happens without you even realizing it, unless you are really cognizant of the day-to-day changes. How neat. :)

The show is going so well! We are having a wonderful time together. The audiences are having a great time, as well. It's a very friendly, laid back atmosphere, full of songs that everyone knows and loves! I really look forward to doing the show each day. It's a great combination of personalities, (with our orchestra and tenor), music, comedy and friendship. We all really have a lot of fun!

The shows are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 2:00 p.m., at The New Americana Theatre. :) Hope to see you all there!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you're all having a great day when you read this. I'm doing fine and enjoying some relaxing time after the show today. :) We've been having beautiful weather this week. It's so nice to have Spring again! :)

We had a wonderful week of shows. It's going really well and getting very positive responses from everyone that comes to see us. I'm so thankful for all of the compliments and for all of the people that are visiting to make the show possible. :) We are having even more fun than we did last year. The show really moves along and is a lot of fun to perform. It's full of so many different kinds of music. I really enjoy it.

I don't know how everyone's weather was today, but we had lots, and lots of rain! Oh my goodness. I could hear it on the side of the theater at intermission of the show, and I was so happy to be inside! Such a simple and wonderful blessing.

We have had such sweet and kind audiences at the show. I've really enjoyed being able to speak with so many of your afterward. It's so nice to catch up with people and meet new friends, too. Thank you for your support!

Hello everyone! I hope all is well with you. :) I'm doing great and having a lot of fun! Thank you for your recent comments on my blog! How fun to read those. :)

The show is going very well. I'm really enjoying all of the new music. People tell me that they are liking this year even more than last year, so that's nice to hear. :) We are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2 pm, at the New Americana Theatre.

I've been promoting and getting to see all of those friends again, so that's been fun for me. It seems like a long time since I've been to those places. But, at the same time, it went so quickly. There's always so much to do, whether it's the regular season or the off-season. I'm thankful to have something to do. I'd rather be busy than bored. :)

My voice lesson students are doing a great job. They really listen well and apply what they're learning. It really makes a big difference. It's neat to hear them improve so much.

We had a beautiful Spring day here, today. It was so nice and the sun was out, too. What a pretty time of year.

Show is Open!

Hello Everyone! The show is now Open! Yay! It's so much fun. I'm really enjoying it. We have put in so many new songs in the show and I have a whole new wardrobe for this year. I'm looking forward to everyone getting to see the show! We are now at 2 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at the New Americana Theatre. You'll definitely have a great time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all, too! It was a pretty nice day temperature-wise today and I was able to teach a couple of lessons after the show. That was a lot of fun to see some of my students. :)

The days leading up to the opening of the show were definitely busy, but we got a lot done. The orchestra worked very hard getting their music learned, and my husband did a whole bunch of work in producing the show, as well. The resulting show has been amazing! We're having so much fun, and the new numbers are really great to listen to and see. We also added a male tenor to sing some songs with me this year, and that has been fun, too. I'm very thankful!

Oh my goodness, it's March! :0) I hope you're all having a great day and enjoying good health when you read this! I'm doing fine and working a lot on the new show.

The first show is on March 15th at 2:00 p.m. We are at the New Americana Theatre and are looking forward to a great season! :) I hope you're all able to see the show this year! We've got lots of new things going in and will have things changing as the year goes on. It's going to be a lot of work, but so much fun to do. I'm very thankful to have this opportunity and am making it the best I know how! :) We're going to have even more costume changes in the show this year than last year. It's going to keep me hopping for sure. It should definitely be interesting. :) Please note the new time is 2:00 p.m. :)

The weather has really improved lately, and is feeling a lot more like Spring could be here in a bit. We had so much more snow than usual in Branson this winter. I was actually out of town for two of the storms, but definitely felt the cold of the season! It's fun to have the change in weather, but I'm excited for the sunny days of Spring and Summer. So nice and relaxing.

The voice lessons are going great and my students are all seeing a lot of improvement. It's really rewarding to see and hear them be more confident and learning so many new things. They are all very kind people and we have a lot of fun working together. I'm thankful for all of them in my life. :)

This "off-season" has gone by very quickly! I think that the regular season might feel like a bit of a vacation once we get the shows open! It's been an enjoyable, but full schedule. :) I'm really happy to have things to do, however. I never got bored. :)

Hello Everyone! :) I know it's been quite a while since I've written. I hope you're all doing well and feeling happy. I'm doing great.

We are getting the show all set to go for this year! It's going to be a lot of fun, and very beautiful, too. We are actually going to be at 2:00 p.m. this year, so it's a little earlier than before. We will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting March 15 at the New Americana Theatre! I'm so excited and am looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I can't believe how much snow we've been getting this winter. It's very unusual for Branson to receive much snow at all. Usually it's ice, if anything, so I'd rather have the snow for sure! :) I hope you have all stayed safe during the storms. You just have to respect the weather. There's nothing more to it than that!

Everything has been going well, but fast. I can't believe I've been on "vacation" for almost two months! I say "vacation", because I've been working a lot on many projects. :) The main one being the show. I am also giving voice lessons, keeping up with my Mary Kay business and helping out at church with the music, so it definitely keeps me hopping from one place to the next. I'm so thankful to have a lot to do. It's all really a lot of fun. :)

As I said in my last blog, at the beginning of the year, we took a family vacation to Hawaii, and that was so relaxing! Every day, we went to the beach and walked to our favorite coffee shop. How wonderful! It really was so great and I think of it often. Those experiences are really special. It's fun to think about when I'm freezing in the snow! So neat that there is a place that's so warm at the same time that we are having winter weather. Amazing.

Wow! I can't believe it's the middle of January already! How are you all doing? I hope this finds all of you well and happy. I'm doing great and thankful for a little time off right now. :)

What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? You can leave a comment at the bottom of this post and let us know! Mine is to worry less and be more organized. I hope I accomplish both. I'm doing pretty good so far! :)

I was able to go on an amazing vacation at the beginning of this month! We went to Hawaii and had a lovely time. We were able to go see the whales and it was so beautiful! We also saw flying fish, and a sea turtle! So neat. It's really amazing how many different creatures and climates God has put on this earth! So unique to each area. It's also helped me to appreciate all of the animals and surroundings here more, too. I'm so thankful to have had the time to relax.

I spent today catching up on a lot of little things that needed to be done, so that is nice to have so many of those taken care of now.

It was such a nice, sunny day on Wednesday and pretty warm, too! Right around 45 to 50 degrees! It was great. I'm looking forward to more of those. :)

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Everyone! Well, the show is done, and it was an amazing year! It was even better than we ever hoped! What a rewarding experience it has been. I worked very hard this year, but it was definitely worth it. We had such fun during the show and so many wonderful compliments from the audiences. I'm so happy to have my talented orchestra members and quite thankful for all of them. They make the show very special. They surprised me during the last show with a gift certificate and a beautiful picture of "Starry Night". For those of you that don't know, we performed the song, Starry, Starry Night, in the show. How thoughtful of them. I believe J.R. is the one that found it. :) What a neat group of people to have in one place. I feel so blessed to be their friend.

We are already working on next year's show. It's going to be even better than this year. We always want to improve, so we're thinking of new ideas all the time. It's really a lot of fun, and gives me the opportunity to be creative. Sometimes it's a challenge, but a good one. :)

I'm getting ready for Christmas and hoping the weather holds out for everyone. I won't travel if it's not safe, however. It just isn't worth it. The important thing is that everyone stay safe. Phones are wonderful to connect with, if nothing else. :) I hope all of your preparations are going well. Be smart and remember the real reason for the celebration: The Birthday of Jesus!!!! He wants us to be safe, too! :)

Hello! :) I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have come to the show so far! It has been a wonderful and exciting year! We are doing shows until December 18th! :) We would love to have all of you at the Christmas show! It's going really well and we are getting such great compliments from people. :)

This last week, I had a very special group of people at the show. :) Three buses of people from Grand Island and the surrounding area, came to the show! It was so much fun to have them there and such an honor. Thank you to all of you for being there! I truly appreciate it!

We have had some very interesting weather for November, and today was no exception. It was over 60 degrees and sunny for a lot of the day! It's really been quite enjoyable. It's amazing with it being this late in November, but there are some flowers still doing really well and it's even been nice enough to sit outside in the sun a little bit! :) I like to do that when I can to soak up some good vitamin D! :)

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all well and feeling happy! We are doing great here. :)

Just a short update for everyone. We are having such a tremendous response to the Christmas show! It is really going well. I'm so thankful! Our schedule is every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday afternoon at 3:00 at the New Americana Theatre. We'd love to have you all come and see it! It's so much fun!

Voice lessons are going great and I've been enjoying the mild, and sometimes quite warm, November weather we've been having! I feel so blessed to be able to spend some days outside with no jacket! It's amazing. My flowers are still going and my petunia even bloomed again! How neat! I love it!

I had some very relaxing days off and am ready to get back to the show tomorrow. I got a lot done in the way of chores, so that is a pleasing accomplishment. :)

Christmas Show!!!! :)

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all well and happy! Are you ready to see a Christmas show? I hope so! We have been working on our Christmas show and it will be great! It's full of happy and heartwarming songs! I'm so excited to share it with all of you. :)

We do not have a show later today, Sunday the 1st. Our schedule for the rest of the year until December 18th is every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday at 3:00 at the New Americana Theatre! :) We will open our show Tuesday, November 3rd. There are beautiful costumes, including a very special skirt that my mom made for me! :) Thank you! :) Erma has a very special part in the Christmas show, as well! (She insisted, you know.) :) So much fun! Can't wait for you all to see it. :)

The show is going so well and I thank all of you so much for coming to see it and letting others know about it! I'm having such a nice time and am so thankful for all of you. :)

There aren't a lot of updates about anything else, but just wanted you to know about the Christmas schedule! I did have a nice time at church this evening and had fun finding a few more things for my costumes. :) Then, I bought some Halloween candy for the kids that come to our door! It was so cute seeing them in their costumes. Very sweet. :)

Christmas Rehearsals?

Hello Everyone! Yes, it's true! We have already been rehearsing for the Christmas show. :) I hope you're all doing well and having a lovely Fall season.

The show has been going so well and we're so excited for the Christmas show! I can't believe it's almost here. This year has gone by so fast. My goodness. We have been blessed with great crowds at the show and have received really wonderful compliments from so many people! It has really been fun to see how the show has changed since we opened in March. It has gotten better and better. The orchestra does so much during the show and makes it even more fun than before! :) I'm really having a great time with everyone.

The Christmas show will be just beautiful and have a lot of fun and funny parts, as well! :) (Of course!) Erma will have a special part in the Christmas production and there will be some amazing numbers with the harp, too. I'm really looking forward to this. We've picked a lot of my favorite Christmas songs, so that is really fun for me to get to sing! :) The first half of the show will be all the best from this year, and the entire second half will be the Christmas portion. :) So much fun!!!!!!!!!!

It's been quite rainy all day here. I'm so happy that I've been able to be inside relaxing and catching up on things. It's good to have days like this every so often. I hope you're all doing fine with your weather, too. My mums are still doing great! Such amazing and hearty flowers. They have so many pretty colors, too.

I got to catch up with one of my friends yesterday evening, so that was nice. It's rare to find time to just sit and chat, but that's exactly what we got to do! I loved it!

Hello! I can't believe that it's October already! Everything is going really well and we're all having a lot of fun at the show. We are now performing every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00. (We used to be on Monday, so I thought I'd make that clear!)

We did something so fun last Sunday, October 4th! We had a benefit show for Christian Action Ministries, (CAM), and the community and visitors brought 780 food items to one show! How great and amazing when everyone works together to accomplish something so important. It was a good feeling for everyone to be helping others and the show was so enjoyable for all of us.

It was such a beautiful day today. The sun was shining and it was warm with a nice cool breeze. What a perfect day for so many things. I actually spent some time just relaxing outside for a bit before I went in for my show today. What a blessing to have down-time and just be able to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. :) I got some pictures of my very pretty mums, too! They are such amazing flowers! So fun to have flowers blooming in the Fall.

We are already working on Christmas music for the show. I'm really looking forward to everything we're going to do! I'm not going to spoil any surprises, but it will be quite beautiful and full of Christmas Spirit! :) I hope you can all come out to see it!

I just looked at the weather report, by the way, and boy am I glad I got to be outside for a little bit today. We are supposed to have a lot of rain tomorrow and Friday, and the temperatures are supposed to get a bit cool! Well, I don't know why I thought it should be something different with it being October and all!

Hello and Happy Fall to all of you! We've had some mild, but very wet weather lately! I just heard some thunder a bit ago, so we may be in for some more rain. At least it hasn't turned too chilly, yet. :)

The show is going really well. I hear about my wonderful orchestra members after every show and people are enjoying the wide variety of songs that we perform. It's so much fun and so fulfilling to do. I'm very thankful for the opportunity and love getting to do my own comedy!

I have been singing at the Haygood show intermissions to promote my show, and the other day I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley Jones from the Partridge Family. She is a kind person and was fun to meet. :) I also got to meet some people from Vancouver last week at my show and people from all over the United States! It's such an honor for me to have people choose my show from so many others they could attend. Everyone has been pleasantly surprised and has really enjoyed the show. Thank you so much to all of you for being there!

I have found myself being quite excited about my free-time lately! It is such a gift to have time to just come home and spend some quiet time resting or watching a favorite show that I've recorded. Simple things, but things that really make me happy! We are so blessed to even have television when you think about it. I also just started a book that I'm looking forward to reading. It's a book my mom gave to me and it really sounds good! It's so fun to picture the story as it goes along. :)

September Days

Hello Everyone! My goodness, what beautiful weather we've been having! I hope you're all enjoying nice temperatures and good health. :) Things are going so well here.

First of all, my parents were here last week and we had such a nice time together. It's always so much fun to have them here! We got to see some shows and eat at some of our favorite places. We also celebrated my mom's birthday!!!! Woo hoo! So happy they were able to come visit. They do so much for us, too! We really appreciate them. God bless you and we love you! :)

The voice lessons are going quite well, too. I'm keeping very busy with them and seeing a lot of improvement in my students. They work hard to apply the lessons that they learn and it really does pay off for them. It makes me feel happy to see them feel good about what they're doing. :)

The show is just going so great! I feel so blessed to have the crowds that we do and the amazing musicians that we have. Everything works so well together. We're having so much fun and I have such a great time being "Erma". I'm so happy we were able to put the comedy in the show, because I enjoy doing that as well as the singing. It's all part of who I am and it's so rewarding to get to perform the things that feel so great in my voice at my show. What a beautiful opportunity. I'm truly thankful for, and energized by it all. Thank you to all of you that have been to the show to support us and what we're doing! It means so much.

I'm actually getting to have a day, today, where I am not working, and it's a bit odd. :) I keep thinking I need to do something, but I don't! It's a nice little vacation day. I'm just catching up on some golf on TV, doing laundry and having snacks! Quite lovely!

Hello Everyone and Happy Labor Day Weekend! :) I hope you're all happy and well. I'm doing great and having so much fun!

The show is growing and growing! We just added another musician for the orchestra two weeks ago! He is great! We now have 9 musicians on stage playing 18 instruments live for the show! It's amazing! We also just added two new songs and they sound so neat! The comedy is with Erma is going quite well. She is quite a character! :) For those of you who haven't seen Erma, you need too. :) We are just having a great time together!

The weather has been just gorgeous and my plants are doing so well! We're going to have some little peppers to eat soon, and the flowers are still blooming and looking beautiful. :) I love this time of year when it's just so nice outside!

Hello there! :) My goodness, I had started two other "Cassandre's Corners" and forgot to finish them and put them on here! I couldn't believe I hadn't updated you before today! :) I hope you're all having a great day and enjoying the summer weather!

I can' t believe that it's already the middle of August. Wow. This summer has flown by. I've been having so much fun and keeping very busy. I just had some 8pm shows last week, so the schedule was quite different from what I've been doing. We had great shows and some big crowds! Everyone is having a lot of fun and they're excited about the orchestra! They are very talented people and I'm very thankful to have them on stage with me. :) I really have a great time performing the comedy, as well! It's so different from everything else that I do and gives me a lot of creative freedom! :D I can't wait for all of you to see it!

I was able to attend a Springfield Cardinal's game earlier this month and had a lovely time! We got to sit in box seats and they had food available for us while we watched the game. :) It was so much fun!!!! That field is so beautiful and the games they play on the side during the game are so funny to watch! They had a milkshake drinking contest, and I was wishing I'd gotten to compete in that one! :)

Well, my plants are doing just fabulously! We've had pretty nice weather for them to flourish. My mums have SOOOOO many buds on them, too! They are going to be amazing!!!!

I sang at two weddings this month and really had a lot of fun. It's such an honor to be asked to sing at weddings and such a joy to be there!

My voice lesson students are doing really well and I'm still having a wonderful time as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. :) There are so many amazing women that have become my friends. :) What a blessing!

Hello Everyone! :) I hope you're all well and having a great day when you read this! :)

The show is going quite well. I'm so thankful for everyone that is coming to see us. We are having so much fun! It's nice to sing songs that feel good in my voice and and that make people smile. Erma is having a great time with her new singing number! People are saying that they are really enjoying the show and that makes me so happy! I can't wait to see you all there! Thank you to all of you that have been able to be there already. It's fun to get to meet you and see you again! Just so you know, I will have three 8:00 shows on August 12, 14 and 16, so that will be interesting to see how that goes! It will be fun to have an evening time for once!

I haven't been able to play golf just lately, but I'm hoping to go out tomorrow for a bit! We'll see. :) It's relaxing to be outside and just take it easy. Hearing the birds and the breeze in the trees is lovely. So, even if I don't play like a pro, it's quite enjoyable! :)

The plants that I have are doing amazingly well! They have grown so much, and in such a little bit of time. It's so surprising! God made everything so beautiful. :) The nice, cooler weather was probably good for them! It's been a bit warmer again, but not as hot as it was before. :)

Hello Everyone! :) I hope you're all having a great day! :)

How was your Fourth of July? Mine was great! :) Tim, my parents and I went on the Showboat and were able to watch the fireworks from the top of the boat! :) Oh, it was so pretty! I loved it! There were fireworks all around us and the weather was just perfect! Our friend, Steve, got us a wonderful deal on tickets and we are so thankful for that! :) I hope you all had a great holiday celebrating our independence!

The show has been going really well! Erma has put in a new number! I won't say what, because it needs to be a surprise! :D It's very fun. Yesterday, the fog machine went a little bonkers and filled the theater with so much fog, I couldn't see the audience for a time. Someone finally had to unplug the machine and work on it so it would be alright for the second half of the show. :) We got the theater cleared of the fog during intermission and we could all see again! :) Ha! It's a completely safe sugar water that is used, so no harm done. :)

My parents helped me get some lovely little plants planted during their visit and it's so nice to have them! I love looking at them and seeing how they are growing!

My friends, Clint and Shari, just had a new little baby this morning! :) Congratulations to them! He is so cute! What a blessing. :)

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!!!

Hello Family and Friends! :) I hope you're all feeling happy and well today! Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

Wow! It was so very hot here last week! You can really tell that it's Summer! We are getting great audiences for the show. It's so much fun. There are a few more little kids at the show during the summer, too, and that's so neat to get to talk with them. They're so cute. I love it, because they tell you the absolute truth about what they think! It's great!

Well, Tim and I got to do something different than our normal, busy routine on Saturday. I don't know if you've heard about it; but a New York based comedian named Mark Malkoff spent the entire month of June on AirTran Airways. He lived on the planes and never left the tarmac for anything. Well, I was contacted and asked if I would come and sing a song for Mark and his wife, Christine, when they landed in Branson. I didn't know what to think at first, but researched it a bit and decided to do it. (Part of my research was running it by my mom!) :) It turned out to be so much fun! Mark and Christine are very kind people and so easy to talk to. It was a fun opportunity for Tim and I to do together! Tim played the guitar and I sang a special version of "Leaving on a Jet Plane" that was tailored especially for Mark's AirTran adventure. Tim also got to climb a rock wall on the tarmac with Mark and Bob Nelson, a comedian originally from New York, and now has his own show here in Branson. :) It was really a different and enjoyable day!

Have a fabulous Fourth of July and be safe! Watch for the children and enjoy our independence. It is truly an amazing and wonderful thing. Summer is here!

Hello there Family and Friends! :) I hope you're all feeling great and having a lovely day! I'm doing well and am excited about the show! :)

We had another amazing week of shows. It's just so great getting to meet all of you. I actually met a lady, today, that was born in Latvia! You get to see people from all over the United States, and really, the world. It's so neat.

I have shows on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00, at the New Americana Theatre, but when I'm not doing that, I am out promoting all over the place. :) It's a lot of hard work, but so rewarding and enjoyable for me. I have met many other entertainers in Branson, and it's been a joy to get to know them. There are so many kind people out there and it's a blessing to be around them.

I'm hoping to get in some golf this weekend, so we'll have to see about that. :) It's important for me to balance everything with a busy schedule, and that includes my hobbies! Golf, is a big one! I would like to get back to my crocheting, too, so I'll have to remember that! Do you ever have free time and you can't think of what it was that you wanted to do? That happens to me sometimes. Goodness. :)

Golfing and things! :)

Hello Family and Friends! :) I hope you're all feeling well and happy when you read this. :)

Well, it was another busy week, but so much fun! The shows are going great! It's amazing to have my own schedule and getting to go all over town and meet new people. I didn't know what to expect in starting my own show, but I'm so glad that I had the opportunity! The songs that we are performing are all so different that it keeps things interesting for everyone. :) I'm teaching a lot of voice lessons outside of the show, too, and that's a lot of fun.

I actually got to go golfing today and enjoy the beautiful weather! I parred a couple of holes and found more golf balls than I lost, so that turned out well. :) I also got to see a momma duck and her little ducklings in a pond on the golf course. They were so cute and so tiny. One of the aspects of golf that I enjoy most is being outside and getting to see things like that. It's so relaxing.

I was so happy that the weather was so wonderful today since it was quite rainy yesterday afternoon. When I drove in to work it was raining so hard that you had to drive very slow, but by the time the show was done, it had cleared up and was sunny and calm. Amazing!

Hello Everyone! :) I hope you're all well and happy! I'm doing fine and having so much fun!

As many of you know, I have a brand new show this year! It's called "Cassandre' The Voice of an Angel" and we are really enjoying it. :) We are at "The New Americana Theatre" on the 76 strip. I'm so thankful for this opportunity and I've already met so many wonderful people and have seen so many of my friends! Thank you to all of you for being at the show!

We have a wide array of musical styles in the show including, Celtic, Gospel, Broadway, Jazz and Animated Favorites! We have an amazing 8-piece orchestra on stage with me and they are so great to work with. I'm so thankful for them and enjoy every show so much!

I also get to perform my own original comedy in the show and it's quite fun for me! I love to be silly and that is truly what I get to do! :) You'll have to come and meet "Erma". :)

I've been keeping busy promoting the show, giving voice lessons and selling Mary Kay, as well! It's a full schedule, but very rewarding. It's a great feeling to work toward achieving the goals I've set for myself. :)

Brand New Show In Branson! :)

Hello Family and Friends! :) I hope this update finds you all well and happy!

I wanted to let everyone know that I am starting my own show this year! It's called: Cassandre' The Voice Of An Angel. It will be at the Americana Theatre right across from the Presley's on Hwy 76 in Branson! I'm very happy to be doing the show and really looking forward to performing for everyone in a new venue!

The show will be a variety of music with a live 8-piece orchestra. There will also be comedy and a male singer as well. I'll be singing Gospel, Broadway, Jazz, Disney, Celtic, Patriotic, Bluegrass and songs from the 30s and 40s, all with beautiful, fresh arrangements! The show is full of, "Oh! That's my favorite song!", songs. :) There is something for everyone at the show. It's going to be a friendly, happy and fun atmosphere, with some very beautiful musical moments, as well. The comedy in the show is original and unlike anything Branson has seen!

The show will begin on March 16, 2009 and will run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00 p.m. It's at the Americana Theatre on Highway 76 right across from the Presley's Theater. I will not be back at Silver Dollar City this year, so I hope to see you all at the new theater! :) There are also season passes available to my show!

Hello Family and Friends! :) I hope you are all well and happy.

I can't believe that it's September already! This summer is going fast for me. I have been busy doing lots of interesting things, so I'm very thankful for that. :) I have been performing in Echo Hollow this summer and will be in Headin' West and Echo Hollow this Fall. It should be fun. I've still been giving voice lessons, too, and that's always great to see the progress that people are making. I was able to sing a few times with some friends at a local coffee shop the last few months, as well, and we really enjoyed that. Anytime that I'm able to sing, it makes me very happy, so I've had a happy summer! :)

It's always great to see all of you that get to come to the shows. I really enjoy being able to visit with you. Thank you so much for being there! I really appreciate it.

I was able to travel to Chicago to meet my mom and dad in July, and that was so great! We saw some shows and were able to do so many things together. The architecture is so beautiful and the food was wonderful. It was really neat to get to do so many different things out of our regular routine. :) That was quite a wonderful vacation. :)

Hello Family and Friends! :) Happy Fourth of July to all of you! :) We are so blessed in this country to be able to celebrate our independence and to celebrate so freely. I'm so thankful for our freedom, and for those who gave so much and continue to give so much to protect us! :) Thank you to all of you and your families. God bless you.

I apologize for not having updated this in some time. I'm so thankful to all of you that are reading it now! I hope you're all feeling well and having a great summer. :)

I am performing six nights a week in Echo Hollow at Silver Dollar City. My night off is Monday, so I'm there any other time. It's nice to get to speak with you when you come and visit and I really appreciate everyone taking the time to come and see the show. :) Our show begins when the rest of the park closes. It's a country show with lots of singing and dancing. Many of the songs in the show are on the radio often, and we do a section that features some of the best of Alabama, too. It's a lot of fun and has something for everyone.

I have still been giving lessons and am a beauty consultant with Mary Kay, as well. I've been very busy doing all of these things and enjoy it so much. It's great to get to help people in these areas and very rewarding to see people feel good about themselves. I've also started singing one night a week for about 30 minutes at Andy's Moon River Grill right after my show. I get to sing the kind of songs that I don't do in my show, so it's something completely different for me. It's refreshing to do something different and just a lot of fun for me. Still, my favorite place to sing is in church. I really love it so much and am so thankful that God gave me this gift.

I did not get to start any kind of a garden this year, as it will take a lot of work and bringing in better soil from somewhere else when we do get to. We really wanted to do this, but had too much going on this year when it was time to start the garden. Hopefully, next year we'll be able to do something. :) I still need to get to the store to buy some flowers to plant around my house. I really enjoy taking care of the flowers and seeing them change. Plus, they bring a beauty to your home that nothing else can. :)

Earlier this year, we had some little finches come back from last year, and build a nest on our porch. A few days later, another bird knocked their nest down and we thought we wouldn't see them again. But, the other day I looked out and they had built another nest and are so happy. I was glad to see them because it's so neat to watch as the baby birds grow and eventually become big enough to fly. It's pretty amazing. :)

Winter Weather!

Hi Everyone! I hope you're all doing well and staying safe in the winter weather! We had quite a lot of ice, slush and rain yesterday here in Branson. I'm not sure what it will do later today, but it should be interesting. The city did a great job of keeping the roads as clear as possible, so that was appreciated!

I had a great day today just shopping and looking around at things. I had plans to go home to see my family, but the weather kept me from that, so I had some unexpected free time to just relax and take it easy. It was fun and I found some great sales, which is always exciting. :) I feel so victorious when I know I found something wonderful for a low price. :) It's like a treasure hunt!

So . . . I'm going to start to think of things for you to comment on each time I do a new post. It may be really simple, but it will be fun to read other people's comments and see why they feel the way they do! :)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! :) I hope you're all having a great day.

I took a walk earlier today and it was wonderful! Here in Branson, we have sun and it's 58 degrees! :) It was so great to be outside and just take in all the beauty that God has given to us. Just being outside is such a blessing. I'm very thankful that I have this time to do that.

This winter season has been so great. I have kept busy with all kinds of little projects around the house, and I've been able to be with my friends and enjoy just talking and laughing together. I've also spent a lot of time talking with my family, and that is always so wonderful to me. I really cherish these moments. They are true gifts to me. :)

I hope you all are having a nice day wherever you are. Stay safe in your weather and may you see God's Valentine's to you in all that you do! :)

Back from Vacation!

Hello Family and Friends! I hope you're all having a great day! Mine's been fine. I just finished walking and doing my yoga. It was quite cold to go walking, but I bundled up and really enjoyed it. I am getting back into all of my stretching with Yoga now that I'm in the off-season. When I'm in rehearsals and performing I get most of what I need in a workout, but during the winter months I do my own workouts. I enjoy both times for different reasons. In rehearsals and shows it's a lot more fun because you are with your friends and interacting with people, but when I'm by myself it can be very relaxing and rejuvenating. :) When I visit my family, I get to go to Yoga class with my Mom and that is so much fun. She has led that class before, but I haven't gotten to be there for that. I have heard that she does a wonderful job and I'm sure she does. She's a very good teacher. :)

The day after I was done with my last day of shows at Silver Dollar City on December 30th, my husband Tim, and I left for Nebraska, where my youngest sister got married! It was so much fun. I was really excited to be with my family for New Year's Eve, and was able to spend some time with my sister before she got married. She has a great husband and they are a splendid couple. I'm very happy to have a new "brother"! :) He's very nice and fits in with our family really well. I got to spend a lot of time with all of my sisters, my parents, and Tim. I am so thankful for those moments when we're all together having fun and enjoying each other's company. My mom and dad are kind enough to let all of us stay with them. It's quite an interruption in their normal routines, but they are more than willing to house us all! :) Thank you Mom and Dad!

After the wedding, my mom, dad, Tim and I all flew to Hawaii. We went to the island of Oahu. Tim's grandma and grandpa Haygood live there, so we stayed with them and my mom and dad stayed at a condo that was basically right on the beach! It was so much fun and so warm! How weird to leave icy streets and arrive in a place where it's over 80 degrees! We stayed there for a week and really enjoyed ourselves. We went whale watching and saw not only whales, but dolphins as well! They swam with our boat for about 10 minutes way out in the ocean! It was so neat and they are so happy it just made me laugh to watch them. They were spinner dolphins, so they like to do a lot of jumping and spinning in the water. It was so amazing. We also went on a submarine and went down as deep as 120 feet below the ocean surface. We saw some sharks, sea turtles and lots of tropical fish. That was really beautiful. When you're down that deep a lot of the natural light gets filtered out, so red was one of the first colors to get filtered out. It was pretty gray when we took a picture inside the submarine without a flash. Very interesting. When we surfaced there where tons and tons of bubbles, and all of a sudden, we were up above the surface again! Wow. Quite an experience. We also went on a jungle jeep tour at Kualoa Ranch up into the jungle on a mountain and a movie scene tour. We were able to see where parts of many movies were filmed, and some filming locations for "Lost". It was very pretty out there. There were also many great places to eat on the island and we all got to go boogie boarding together, too. That was really fun! We were able to go and look at the North Shore a couple of days, too, where there were record 35 foot waves crashing in on the beach! There were warning signs everywhere, telling people there was no swimming or surfing. Some of the beaches were even roped off because the waves were coming up so high on the beach. It was so amazing to see. It was very beautiful and scary all at the same time. There is so much power in the ocean, you can't even begin to grasp it. I was so thankful to get to see and do all of these wonderful, interesting and beautiful things! Thanks to my mom and dad we were able to get around to see these things. They had a rental and let us ride along with them. We all had a great time and were quite a good travel group. :) We all get along really well and have a lot of fun together.

Well, it was back to reality for all of us this last week. We arrived home and started getting back into the swing of things. My dad is an accountant, so he is very, very busy right now. I'm so thankful that he and my mom got to take a vacation. That is very rare during tax season, for those of you that don't know! :) It was such a special time for all of us. Believe it or not, it was refreshing, literally and figuratively speaking, for us to get back to the winter weather that we're used to. It was so neat having the tropical temperatures, but I need to have my 4 seasons to feel normal! :) It's been cold enough, though!
